Hey Blazer Fans!

Last Saturday, we competed in the Southeast Cross Country Showdown hosted by Samford, here on Alabama soil for the first time this season. To our family, friends and teachers that came out to support us, we can't thank you enough for taking time out of your day to cheer us to a first place finish!

Being a freshman on the team, this season is a new and exciting experience for me. I want to share with you one of the key reasons - my team. I believe that without unity, a group of people will never reach their full potential. Sure, individual results speak volumes and each person is responsible for her dedication, hard work and performance. After all, we are an individual sport. But there are many outside factors that make up the glue for a strong and unbreakable team. This year's group of girls is the ones you would end up with if you were given the opportunity to choose the perfect circle of life-long friends. They each embrace unique and beneficial qualities. Fortunately, I get to be around these great personalities and learn from each of them every day. I see encouragement, mental toughness, selflessness, passion and love without conditions. Not only do my teammates pull me to greatness by being the best that they can be, but they are also behind me to back me up when faith in myself begins to fade.

The will to be great, to be the runner, person, or influence you want to be must come from inside. And I see that in each one of my fellow Blazers. They desire to work to attain seemingly unreachable goals, and not only do they search within themselves, but they radiate this inner strength. We will be great runners, we will have great results and we will be a sisterhood - unbreakable and unstoppable.

This Saturday we will be spreading our FIRE at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas! Let's light up the course ladies!
