TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ----- Elinor Kirk was UAB's top cross country performer again Saturday as the Blazers took part in the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational.
Kirk was the top UAB finisher in the 6k Blue Race that featured 13 teams listed in the most recent USTFCCCA national rankings. The native of Swansea, Wales was clocked at 21:04.36 and placed 54th in the deep field. Kirk has been the Blazers' first runner to cross the finish line in all four meets this fall.
Emma Bates of Boise State was the individual winner with Stanford's Aisling Cuffe finishing as runner-up.
Georgetown, ranked No. 5 nationally, won the team title with No. 2 Florida State taking second.
Sarah Livett (22:17.84) and Kate Brown (22:18.20) were the Blazers' next runners to cross the finish line. Rachel Harley ran a time of 22:54.63 with Lauren Scott (24:14.96), Lindsay Miller (25:19.08) and Hannah Coffin (25:36.97) rounding out the UAB finishers.
UAB will now set its sights on the upcoming Conference USA Championships, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 at Denton, Texas.
