Sarah Hudak won her fourth race of the season at the 2012 Bradley Classic 6K race on Friday night. As a team, the Blazers finished in 10th out of 23 teams with 269 points.
Hudak crossed the finish line with a time of 20:40, more than a minute faster than her previous personal best in the 6K, set last month when she won the Azalea City Classic with a time of 21:53.50.
Junior Elinor Kirk finished second for the Green and Gold with a time of 20:58 for fourth place overall. Kirk's time marks an improvement from her previous best, also set at the Azalea City Cross Country Classic (21:58.92), where she finished second.
Also for the Blazers, junior Kate Brown crossed the finish line in the 14th position with a time of 21:38. Sophomore Kristie Leybourne also improved on her 6K time, crossing the finish line at 23:05. Senior Pascale Pinard shaved more than three minutes off her personal best with a time of 24:06.
Sophomore Kara Woods was the fifth Blazer to improve on her 6K mark with a finish at 26:22.
With a total time of 1:47:57 and four finishers in the top-40, Illinois State claimed the team crown with 102 points, while Saint Louis finished 12 points behind with a total of 114. Southern Illinois rounded out the top three with 115 total points.
Up next, UAB will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. for the 2012 Conference USA Championship, hosted by Southern Miss on Monday, Oct. 29.
