Ran in a pair of races for the Blazers...finished with a personal-best in the 4k at the UAB-Samford Dual (18:50.20) on Sept. 1...Ran an 18.57.50 in the 4k race at the Auburn Invitational (Sept. 9).
Notes: Kara competed with the 2010-11 UAB track and field team. She finished among UAB's top three in the 500 meters (1:24.31) and in the top five in the 600 meters (1:47.19). The fall 2011 season will be her first with the cross country team.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Lamp Magnet High School in Montgomery, Ala. ... was a member of the Class 3A state champion 400-meter relay team in 2008 and 2009 ... finished as the runner-up in the 400 meters at the state meet in both 2009 and 2010 ... was the senior class president and president of the government club.
