Agne Eggerth enters her first year as a an assistnat track and field coach at UAB after working for two years as a volunteer assistant coach for the Blazers. Eggerth, who worked with the Blazer sprinters as a volunteer coach, will devote her time the sprinters and relay teams.
Eggerth is a two-time member of the Lithuanian Olympic team. She has competed as a sprinter in the European Championships in addition to four World Championships, earning places on the Olympic teams that participated in Sydney and Athens.
She is a 27-time Lithuanian National Champion and currently holds her country's records in the 50, 55, 60, 100 and 200-meters.
Eggerth is a graduate of McKendree College (Illinois), with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education. While at McKendree state she was an NAIA national champion 13 times and the NAIA Athlete of the Year twice. She is still the NAIA national record holder in the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.
Eggerth, originally from Kaunas, Lithuania currently resides in Birmingham with her husband, Andy Eggerth.
