Allison Magner enters her second season as a coach with the UAB volleyball program in 2005 and her first season as co-interim head coach.
Magner has served the Blazer program for four years, two as an outstanding player and two years in a coaching position.
She has served as a full-time staff member since May 2004, assisting former head coach Melinda Claiborne in many facets on the court and in the office. Her duties include assisting with on-the-floor coaching and working primarily with the middle blockers. She is also involved in practice planning, recruiting, event management, equipment, team travel and summer camps.
Magner was a two-year letterwinner for the Blazer volleyball program (2001-02). She led UAB in blocks per game (1.05), total blocks (100) and block assists (87) as a senior in 2002. In addition, Magner recorded 18 matches with double-digit kills during her UAB career.
Magner played two seasons at N.C. State before transferring to UAB.
A native of Lake Oswego, Ore., Magner graduated from UAB with a degree in marketing and a minor in international business in May 2004. She is currently pursuing her MBA at UAB and will complete the program in 2006.
