MONCTON, New Brunswick, Canada ----- Former UAB distance runner Rhiannon Johns just keeps adding highlights to her lengthy track and field resume.
The Blazer All-American from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, running in her first national championship in her home country, finished runner-up Saturday night in the 5,000-meter run at the Canada Track and Field Championships.
Johns, who just two weeks ago achieved All-America status at UAB for the second time with her performance in the 10k at the NCAA Championships, was second in Saturday's 5k national championship at Stade Monton Stadium with a time of 16:26.71, less than two seconds behind the winning effort of Andrea Seccafien.
