BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The UAB track and field team will split up this weekend, with the distance runners traveling to Walnut, Calif., to compete in the 55th Annual Mt. Sac Relays on Friday and Saturday. The sprinters and hurdlers are set to travel to Nashville, Tenn., to compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational over the same two-day span.
For the Mt. Sac Relays, running events will begin on Friday at 12:15 p.m. CT, while Saturday's will begin at 1:50 p.m. CT.
At Vanderbilt, Friday's field events are slated to begin at 3 p.m. CT, while the running events will kick off at 5 p.m. CT with the women's 200m. On Saturday, the field events will begin at 10 a.m. CT, while the women's 4x100m relay will kick off the running events at Noon CT.
Last time out, the Green and Gold set seven season bests at Auburn's Tiger Track Classic on April 6.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of senior Shakima Knox, redshirt junior Angel Watson, junior Kyana White and junior Alexis Bates posted a top-five finish with a season-best time of 45.53, while senior Rachel Harley finished in seventh place in the 400m hurdles, running a season-best time of 1:00.10. Fellow senior Lytrice Thomas finished at 1:01.76, also a season best.
Up next, UAB will compete in its last regular-season meet, the Samford Invite, on Saturday, April 27.
