BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB track and field team will compete in the Birmingham Invitational, which the Blazers will host along with Samford and Birmingham-Southern, at the Birmingham Crossplex on Wednesday and Thursday.
The meet will start Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the multi-events followed by the seeded 5,000-meter run. Competition will resume Thursday at 8 a.m., beginning with the unseeded 5,000 meters and conclude at 9 p.m. with the men’s 4x400-meter relay.
The Blazers will run on Thursday in the preliminary 60-meter and 60-meter hurdle rounds and the 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, one mile, 3,000-meter and 4x400-relay events. UAB will also compete in the pole vault as well as the high, long and triple jumps.
The competition features 24 teams, including Conference USA opponent and nationally-ranked Southern Miss along with in-state teams Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Birmingham-Southern, Jacksonville State and Samford.
