Neal Tisher picked up a fifth place finish in the pole vault as the Blazers wrapped up competition at the War Eagle Invite on Saturday.

AUBURN, Ala. – The UAB track and field team wrapped up competition at the War Eagle Invite on Saturday to close weekend competition.
In the pole vault event, Neal Tisher leaped to a 4.05 (13-3 ½), her second performance at that mark this season. She placed fifth in the event, one of UAB’s five top-five finishes on the day.
Three Blazers competed in the long jump, led by Akira McSwain who finished 13th after a jump of 5.46m (17-11). Renay Ransaw finished a spot behind in 14th after a 5.45m (17-10 ¾) jump. Kelli Smith rounded out the Blazers in the event with a 22nd place finish after a jump of 5.10m (16-8 ¾).
Lindsay Miller competed in the 3,000m steeplechase for the third time this season and picked up a fourth-place finish after a time of 11:49.25.
In the 100m hurdles, Jessica Shelley was the only Blazer to advance to the finals. She ran a 13.98 in the preliminary run and placed eighth in the final race after a time of 14.29 seconds.
Shelby Barker matched her high jump performance from the Alabama Relays and jumped to a 1.60m (5-3) on Saturday to finish ninth.
Autumnn Burnett picked up a fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles, running a 1:02.02, her second-best time this outdoor season.
Watson was UAB’s top finisher in the 200m, running a 23.82 to finish sixth, while Knox was 11th after a 24.14. McSwain finished the event 22nd after running a 24.84.
