WALNUT, Calif. – UAB freshman Sarah Livett broke UAB’s freshman record in the 10,000m race on Thursday night at the Mt. SAC Relays.

The record is the fifth Livett has achieved this season, as she set new freshman marks in the mile and 3,000m run in the indoor season and a new 5,000m freshman mark this outdoor season.

The Benllech, Wales native’s time of 35:57.15 placed her 26th in the race. Her time was nearly a minute faster than the former UAB freshman top mark, a 36:47.51, set by Rhiannon Johns in 2009.

Kate Brown and Elinor Kirk will be back in action at the Mt. SAC Relays Friday night in California, taking part in the 5,000m runs.
