Women's Tennis Set For USTA/ITA Southern Regional

Rachel Daniell leads UAB with a 5-4 singles record this fall.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women's tennis team is set to close out its fall schedule this weekend, Oct. 19-22, with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships. Matches are slated to start at 9 a.m. CT each day.

The Blazers will be one of 13 teams from across the southern states to compete, with matches to be played at The University of Alabama Tennis Stadium, University Recreation Tennis Complex and potentially the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.

Included in the field, along with UAB and host Alabama, are Auburn, Jackson State, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU, McNeese State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Northwestern State, Samford, Troy and Tulane.

Players that will represent the Blazers in singles are Rachel Daniell, Isabel Fernandez, Caroline Faught, Amy Lowther, Rachel Cohen, Elaine Simon and Menanteau Moolman. The doubles teams will consist of Daniell and Moolman, Faught and Lowther and Simon and Fernandez.
