UAB's Pardis Kianoush enters this year's tournament with 11 singles win.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB's women's tennis team has earned a No. 12 seed in the 2014 Conference USA Championship and will play 13th-seeded UTEP on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET in Norfolk, Va.
The 16-team field will play over the course of five days at host-school Old Dominion's Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The winner of the UAB vs. UTEP matchup will play against No. 5 seed Louisiana Tech on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET.
The Blazers enter this week's tournament with an 8-14 overall record and have played four teams ranked in the ITA top-75. UAB has yet to play its first-round opponent UTEP this season.
Freshman Pardis Kianoush leads the Blazers in singles wins with 11 this season. Meanwhile, UAB's doubles tandems of Rachel Daniell and Elaine Simon, along with Amy Lowther and Catherine Ragon, each have a 4-1 record in C-USA doubles contests.
