UAB, UTSA Meet In Women's Tennis Action Sunday

Newcomer Pardis Kianoush has played stellar for the Blazers this season.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB women’s tennis team returns to George Ward Park on Sunday to face Conference USA foe UTSA at 11 a.m. CT.

The Blazers are coming off a thrilling 4-3 win against No. 67 Northwestern State last Sunday in UAB’s first win against a ranked opponent since 2007.  UAB is in the midst of a four-match home stand. Following the contest against the Roadrunners, the Blazers host Jacksonville State and North Alabama on Feb. 21. 

Pardis Kianoush leads the Blazers with a 3-1 overall dual match record. Meanwhile, the doubles tandem of Rachel Daniell and Elaine Simon leads UAB with a 2-3 record at the top position.

UTSA enters the match on Sunday with a two-match win streak, with wins against Incarnate Word and Louisiana- Lafayette by identical 7-0 scores.
