Sam Serley has paired up with Alison Woods to earn two wins this season.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB sand volleyball team will travel to Columbia, S.C. to play in the South Carolina Tournament Saturday, March 22 through Sunday, March 23. The Blazers will play four games during two days of the tournament.
UAB (0-3) will be one of five teams competing this weekend. The Blazers will play Mercer (3-2), South Carolina (2-4), College of Charleston (0-0) and Oregon (0-0).
To kick off the weekend, UAB will take on Mercer for the third time in two weeks. However it will be the first meeting on a neutral court this season. UAB fell to Mercer, 3-2, in both previous matches this season. The teams are set to square off on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
Later that afternoon, the Blazers will meet tournament-host South Carolina at 3:15 p.m. ET. This will be the first ever meeting between UAB and South Carolina. The Gamecocks are in their first season of sand volleyball.
On Sunday, UAB will begin the day with a match against College of Charleston. The teams are set to begin at 11:30 a.m. ET. The Blazers hold a 2-0 advantage over the Cougars. The teams met for the first time last year, with UAB taking the win in both matches.
UAB will close out the tournament against Oregon. The Ducks will be the second team the Blazers will play this weekend that are in their first season as a program.
The Blazers are led by two pairs that are 2-1 on the season thus far. Kiriana Hirini and Bethanie Thomas have teamed up for two wins, both coming at the No. 1 position against Mercer. Sam Serley and Alison Woods also have two wins in the first three matches of the season.
