BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB sand volleyball team dropped its final dual match of the regular season to Tulane on Sunday. The Green Wave defeated the Blazers, 3-2.
UAB (5-9) and Tulane (8-7) had to play through a rain delay on Sunday to finish the match.
The Green Wave started the day strong with wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. However, the match would be postponed for several hours due to inclement weather.
Once the teams were able to return to the courts, UAB jumped on the board with a win from seniors Sam Serley and Alison Woods on senior day. The duo defeated Annie Shurtz and Amber Bennett in straight sets, 21-11, 21-12, at the No. 2 position.
