BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- Registration is now open for UAB head softball coach Marla Townsend's two winter hitting clinics.

The first clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8, while the second will be held on Monday, Jan. 21. The clinics will run from 9 a.m. to Noon for ages six through 13, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 14 through 18. Both clinics will take place at the Geaux Play Sports Training & Fitness in Pelham, Ala.

At the clinics, the basic fundamentals of hitting will be covered, as well as advanced hitting skills for those with sound fundamentals. Mental toughness will also be addressed.
