Poulsen Named Assistant Softball Coach

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Jennifer Poulsen was named assistant softball coach at UAB, head coach Marla Townsend announced today.

Poulsen comes to UAB from the Akron Racers, a women's professional softball team, where she has served as head coach since September of 1999. Previously, she had served as the team's assistant coach from May-September of 1999 before being promoted. Poulsen was the head coach at Permian High School from 1996-99, she served as an assistant coach at Baylor University from 1995-96 and was the head coach at Florin High School from 1994-95.

Poulsen was a catcher and infielder at California State University at Hayward from 1992-93. She was a catcher, utility player and an All-Conference performer for Cosumnes River College from 1990-92.

Poulsen received her bachelor's degree from California State University at Sacramento in 1995 and received her teacher certification from Texas Tech University in May of 2000.
