BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB softball team hits the road Tuesday to face in-state foe Troy at the Troy Softball Complex with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

Troy leads the all-time series with UAB 16-10. The last time the two teams met was in 2016 when the Trojans captured the 4-2 over the Blazers at Mary Bowers Field.
ON THE BLAZERS
UAB enters the midweek matchup with Troy coming off a 1-2 weekend against UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. The Blazers dropped the first two games of the doubleheader on Friday but beat the Roadrunners convincingly in the series finale on Saturday.
Analyse Petree leads the Blazers with a .297 batting average. The sophomore has 19 hits on the season, 12 RBI and is third on the squad with a .406 slugging percentage.
Destini England continues to be a threat in the leadoff spot for UAB. She has a team-high 25 hits and has crossed the plate 15 times. The speedy freshman is second on the team with six stolen bases and posts a .931 fielding percentage.
Molli Garcia is third on the team with a .265 mark. The catcher from California has tallied 18 hits and six RBI so far in her first season with the Blazers. She’s thrown out five runners from behind the plate and has only committed three errors through 27 games.
Madison Millsaps has been the muscle at the plate for UAB this season. The junior lefty leads the team with five home runs, 16 RBI and a .507 slugging percentage. She has scored seven times and is batting .239.
Joanna Fallen has stayed consistent throughout the season for the Blazers. The veteran from Prattville, Ala., has 18 hits, 11 runs, 11 RBI and is second on the team with a .421 slugging percentage.
Claire Blount is a constant threat in the circle for the Blazers. She has pitched a staff-high 79.1 innings with seven complete games and 67 strikeouts. She boats a 2.47 ERA and owns a 5-5 record with two shutouts and one save.
Troy is coming off a series win over Georgia State this past weekend. The Trojans split the doubleheader on Saturday with the Panthers; they won the first game, 4-3, and dropped the second with a score of 6-5 before capturing the 9-7 victory on Sunday to win the series.
Becca Hartley leads the Trojans in most categories. The senior from Troy, Ala., has a team-high .356 batting average, 10 home runs, 26 RBI and an impressive .778 slugging percentage.
Stephanie Snyder is hot on Hartley’s heels with a .337 batting average. The sophomore outfielder leads the team with 33 hits and is in a three-way tie for first with six doubles. Snyder posts a .982 fielding percentage and has only committed one error all season.
Claire Graves leads the Troy pitching staff with a 2.82 ERA and 7-2 record. She has thrown five complete games and two shutouts in 79.1 innings of work and has recorded 24 strikeouts.
A LOOK AHEAD
The Blazers travel to Oklahoma City, Okla., to participate in a tournament hosted by the Oklahoma Sooners March 25-26. The Blazers will face Mississippi State at 12 p.m. and Oklahoma at 5 p.m. on Saturday before facing the Sooners again on Sunday at 11 a.m.
