BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The UAB women's soccer team will continue in non-conference action this week, traveling to Oxford, Miss. on Friday to take on Ole Miss. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.
Last week, UAB (0-5) hosted then-No. 3 Oklahoma State in its final home non-conference match, and fell 4-2. Later in the match, sophomore Johanna Liney beat the Oklahoma State back line to score her first goal of the season.

SCOUTING THE REBELS
Ole Miss (6-0) posted its fourth consecutive shutout last week, defeating Texas Tech 2-0 at home. Rebel keeper Kelly McCormick picked up seven saves and cleared a number of scoring opportunities for Texas Tech. McCormick's performance earned her a second-consecutive honor as the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
On the offensive side, junior forward Mandy McCalla scored the eventual game winner in the 11th minute, while freshman forward Olivia Harrison sealed the deal in the 78th.
Up next, UAB will round out the non-conference schedule with a trip to Florida to face Stetson and Florida Atlantic on Friday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. CT and Sunday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. CT, respectively.
