BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women’s soccer team (10-5-2) tied Tulsa (9-6-2), 0-0, in a two-overtime match at West Campus Field Friday night.
“We created opportunities to score and kept the ball well tonight,” head coach Harold Warren said. “We just didn’t finish our opportunities. It was a good game; Tulsa is a good team. We both created opportunities and could have finished but didn’t and that was the difference.”
The Blazers outshot the Golden Hurricane 12-8, but neither team could seal the deal in a very tight Conference USA matchup. Sam Bradford, Paige Hanks, Johanna Liney and Abby Phillips all took two shots a piece for UAB, as the Blazers totaled three shots on goal during the match.
Courtnie Northern played all 110 minutes in goal for the Blazers and picked up five saves, while Hayley Harryman recorded three for Tulsa. The Blazers return to action Sunday at West Campus Field in a 1 p.m. match against North Texas.
