CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The UAB women's soccer team (9-5-1, 2-3-1) dropped a 1-0 decision to Charlotte (8-5-2, 3-2-2) on Friday night in the 103th minute of double overtime at Transamerica Field.
The Blazers and 49ers were locked in a 0-0 tie through all of regulation and the first overtime period, but Charlotte's Amanda Jones slipped behind UAB goalkeeper Angelica Jimenez to the far right post to knock in the game-winning goal.
UAB took 10 shots for five on-goal, while the 49ers had 29 shots for 11 on-goal. Jimenez finished with 10 saves on the night.
The Blazers return to action on Sunday at Old Dominion. Kick is set for noon.
