For UAB (2-8, 1-1 C-USA), junior defender Amy Harrison led the team with a pair of shot attempts, including on on-goal try. Senior midfielder Emma Jane Smith, junior midfielder Abby Phillips, and freshman midfielder Hannah Coffin also took shots for the Blazers.
UCF (7-2-1, 1-1 C-USA) got on the board first in the 12th minute, when Tishia Jewell took a feed from teammate Ashley Nicol. Jewell also scored in the 70th minute of action. Nicolette Radovcic scored a pair of goals in the 18th and 64th minutes, and Allie Gerry added two more in the last five minutes of the game.
Up next, UAB remains at West Campus Field to host Marshall and East Carolina. The Blazers and Thundering Heard will kick off at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, while the match against the Pirates is set for 1 p.m. CT.
"We are definitely looking forward to Marshall and East Carolina," Warren said. "We're still 1-1 in conference, just like UCF. We will be prepared for Marshall and ECU."
