Ashley Hart, who spent two years as a graduate assistant coach with the UAB women's soccer team, was promoted in the spring of 2002 to assistant coach.
Hart came to UAB from Briarwood Christian School where she had been an assistant coach during the 2000 season when Briarwood won a state championship. In 1999, she served as the assistant coach at Samford University.
As a player, Hart was a four-year starter at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she was a part of a Big South Championship in 1995 and a conference runner-up team in 1996 and 1998. As a freshman, Hart was named to the Big South All-Tournament Team and earned Player of the Week honors. She was a two-time, second-team all-conference player and served as team captain as a senior. She was named to the Big South All-Academic Team four consecutive years and is the third all-time leading scorer at UNCA. Hart graduated with Distinction as a Research Scholar with a Bachelors Degree in Biology.
Hart graduated from Vestavia Hills High School where she was named the Alabama High School Player of the Year in 1995. She was also a member of the eight-time State Champions Alabama Angels Club Team.
The Birmingham native now resides in Vestavia Hills.
