BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB women's golfer Christina Wentworth has been named Conference USA's Female Golfer of the Week following her performance at the UAB Fall Beach Blast earlier this week. Wentworth shot a one-over par 145 at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club to tie for second place in the individual standings.

"I am excited for Christina to earn this award," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "She is very deserving of this honor after the way that she played in this past tournament. She had an outstanding two rounds and was consistent throughout the event."

Wentworth led all C-USA golfers at the tournament as she finished tied for second place in the two-day tournament. The senior carded rounds of 74 and 71 to help pace the Blazers to an eighth-place finish in the 14-team field. The weekly honor is the second of Wentworth's career.

The Blazers have completed their fall season and will now look ahead to their spring schedule, which begins at the Lady Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala. on March 2-3.
