Nov. 2, 2008
Live Scoring BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third consecutive year, the UAB women's golf team will host the annual UAB Fall Beach Blast on Nov. 3-4 at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala. The tournament will feature one round each day during the two-day event at the par 72, 5,995-yard course. "We are excited to host this event once again," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "It has been a great event the past two years. It has grown in size from when we started this in 2006 and this is one of our biggest fields yet. "The Peninsula does a great job in working with us to put on this tournament. I think it's a great way to end the fall season." This year's event will feature 14 teams vying for the team title. Joining UAB will be Belmont, Cincinnati, Columbia, Indiana State, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, Marshall, Samford, Southern Miss, UT-San Antonio, Texas-Pan American and West Florida.
