Women's Golf Through Day One At Steelwood

Jessica Rouillard is tied in 16th place after Day One.

MOBILE, Ala. ---- UAB’s women’s golf  team wrapped up its first day at the Steelwood Collegiate on Monday and stands in seventh place going into the final day.

Blazers Amanda Richey and Jessica Rouillard led the team on Monday. Both are currently tied for 16th place after shooting seven-over par, 79.

“Both Amanda and Jessica played really well for us today,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “Amanda had a great day putting and Jessica played really well on several holes. As a team, I am looking forward to getting back out here to tomorrow and playing a little better.”

UAB shot a 50-over par, 338 as a team, which puts them in seventh place. ULM leads the field after firing a 16-over, 304 team total.

Among other individual performances for UAB, senior Caitlin Watts is tied in 26th place after shooting a 10-over par, 82, while Jesse Lawley and Rebecca Chandler are each in 37th place with 13-over par, 85 performances.
