FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sydney Snodgrass paced the Blazers with a fourth-place finish and earned All-Tournament honors as she helped guide the UAB women’s golf team to a seventh place finish at the 2017 Conference USA Tournament. The Blazers shot a final round 308 to finish at 907 (+43) for the event.
“It wasn’t the finish we were hoping for however we are improving,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “It is definitely a step in the right direction and it has been especially good to witness the girls getting better. Sydney (Snodgrass) finishing fourth is a great accomplishment for her and this program.”
Snodgrass led the Blazers for the fourth consecutive tournament turning in a three-over par 75 on the final day. Snodgrass finished in three-way tie for fourth place marking her third top-five finish this season, a team-best.
Rebecca Chandler carded a final round 76 (+4) to finish tied for 18th in her final tournament as a Blazer.
Maria Dondao shot a closing round 80 (+8) and finished tied for 35th.
Old Dominion shot a closing round one-over par 289 to move one spot up the leaderboard taking down Middle Tennessee and claimed team-honors. The Lady Monarchs will move onto the NCAA Regionals with their site location to be determined.
