BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB women’s golf team finished the Samford University Women’s Intercollegiate in seventh place after a final round 237 on Tuesday morning. Jessica Rouillard led the way for the Blazers with a nine-over par 81 to finish in a tie for 15th place in the tournament.
As a team, the Blazers fired a team score of 330 in the final round this morning to remain in seventh place for the tournament. Host Samford defeated the University of Louisiana-Monroe in a playoff to take home the top team honor.
Rouillard shot a team low nine-over par 81 on the day to finish with a three-day total of 237. Amanda Richey and Holly Robinson finished just behind Rouillard on the day with scores of 82 and 83 to finish the tournament at 253 and 246, respectively. Margaret Yeh and Jaime Ritter rounded out the scoring for the Blazers with scores of 258 and 270, respectively.
ULM’s Alison Knowles took home medalist honors with a three-day score of 223. West Florida’s Elin Olsson finished second individually with at 226.
The Blazers return to the course April 22-24 when they compete in the Conference USA Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala.
