ATLANTA ---- Led by senior Caitlin Watts’ four-over par, 76 performance on Sunday, the UAB women’s golf team fired a team total 323 to stand in 10th place following the first day of play at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate.
The tournament, which features 16 teams including host-school Georgia State, is being played at the Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Atlanta. The Panthers currently lead the field after shooting a 300 as a team in Sunday’s first round.
UAB is currently ahead of six other teams through one day and trails the No. 9 place team Mercer by only six strokes heading into Monday’s second round.
Individually for the Blazers, Holly Robinson is tied for 27th place after her six-over par, 78. Meanwhile, teammate Margaret Yeh is tied for 57th place after a 10-over, 82. Blazer Amanda Richey is currently tied for 76th, while Jessica Rouillard is in 88th place.
Monday’s action begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
