BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jessica Mellot, a 2014-15 UAB bowling signee, was selected to the Dexter United States Bowling Congress High School All-American Team, announced on Thursday.
"The awards just keep rolling in for Jessica Mellott,” head coach Michelle Crews said. “On top of an already amazing year, now she has just earned Dexter All American. She is just one of five females across the country to receive this honor this year and we are so proud of her.
Ten bowlers, five boys and five girls, were selected for the 2013-2014 Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team. Each student-athlete will receive a $1,000 scholarship for being named to the team and will be recognized at this year’s Junior Gold Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., in July.
A five-year member of the Coral Springs Charter School bowling team, she amassed numerous achievements throughout her high school career. During that time she recorded 20 tournament victories with multiple city and Florida state tournament titles.
Mellott, a native of Coral Springs, Fla., will join her sister Jennafer Mellott as a member of the UAB bowling team for the 2014-15 season.
