Bowling Competes At Columbia 300 Music City Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The UAB bowling team will conclude its regular season at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic this weekend. The tournament hosted by Vanderbilt will run from Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 9.

It will be a deep tournament with 29 teams set to compete, including 19 of the top 20. The ranked teams include No. 1 Arkansas State, No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 3 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 5 Central Missouri, No. 6 Stephen F. Austin, No. 7 Sam Houston State, No. 8 Vanderbilt, No. 9 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 10 St. Francis, No. 11 Kutztown, No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 13 Saint Francis Brooklyn, No. 14 Valparaiso, No. 15 McKendree, No. 17 North Carolina A&T, No. 19 Alabama State, No. 20 Adelphi and No. 20 Delaware State.

Also competing along with the Blazers will be, Alabama A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Howard, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Long Island, Monmouth and Tulane.

The three-day tournament will begin with six, four-game baker matches on Friday. The action will start at 9 a.m. Saturday will feature the six traditional team games with matches starting at 8:30 a.m. On Sunday, the teams will conclude with three best-of-seven baker matches beginning at 8:30 a.m.

UAB is coming off its best finish of the season after taking third at the Aggie Master’s. The Blazers finished 9-4 on the weekend. Junior Ali Long led the team with a third place finish individually, her best of the season.
