BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB bowling team will resume play at the Mid-Winter Invitational hosted by No. 1 ranked Arkansas State.
The field competing will include 13 teams, seven of which rank in the top-10 in the nation. Along with No. 1 ranked Arkansas State will be No. 3 Central Missouri, No. 5 Stephen F. Austin, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 8 Vanderbilt and No. 10 Sam Houston State.
Also in the field are, No. 14 Valparaiso, No. 19 McKendree, Bethune-Cookman, Elmhurst and Tulane.
The Blazers enter the weekend 15-21 after competing in two fall tournaments. UAB began the season with a 14th place finish in the Crusader Classic, which included a win over then No. 19 Prairie View A&M. At the Hornet Classic, UAB finished in seventh place after going 12-9 on the weekend.
The tournament will begin Friday, Jan. 17 at 11:30 a.m. with team Baker matches. Saturday’s action will begin at 9 a.m. with traditional team games and the tournament will conclude Sunday, Jan. 19 with the bracket portion beginning at 8 a.m.
