UAB bowling in fifth after first day of Aggie Master's.

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UAB bowling team completed the first day of action at the Aggie Master's Challenge in fifth place with three wins.
The Blazers were one of four teams to finish with three wins and their total pinfall of 3,304 places fifth among the eight teams.
UAB opened the day with a win over Hampton University, 690-609. In the game, the Blazers had a high of 207 in the five bowls. The next game was a close one as the team fell just short of North Carolina Central University, 658-641. They posted a team-high 211 in that game.
The Blazers rebounded with a 613-546 win over Winston-Salem State University. North Carolina A&T took the next game over the Blazers, 706-653, but UAB would close out the day strong.
In the final game, UAB defeated Fayetteville State, 707-648, to secure its third win of the day and enter tomorrow in fifth place.
The teams will play six traditional games on Saturday, which also includes the individual competition.
