UAB Notes
UAB Looks For Bye
>> With a win Thursday, UAB would clinch the fourth-seed and a first-round bye in next week’s Conference USA Tournament. With a loss, the Blazers could fall all the way to the sixth spot.

Chapman 12 From 1,000
>> UAB junior forward Karisma Chapman needs just 12 points to reach 1,000 in her career. She would be one of 26 Blazers all-time to accomplish that feat.

Jones Top-10 In Scoring
>> Following an 11-point performance against East Carolina on Feb. 28, senior Amber Jones has moved into UAB’s top-10 scoring list with 1,478 career points. She is currently 10th on the list, behind Britney Jones’ 1,601 career-point total.

Blazers Steal
>> UAB is ranked 24th in NCAA women’s basketball in steals per game (11.7). Leading the Blazers in that category has been Karisma Chapman, who averages 3.3 per game -- the 12th-best total in the NCAA.

UAB Changes Starting Five
>> UAB has changed its starting five in the last eight games. Taking the place of usual starter Khalilah Watson have been freshmen Essence Baucom and Chelsee Black. The two combine to average just 14 minutes per contest.

Kleist Starts Every Game
>> One consistency in the UAB starting five this season has been senior Michaelea Kleist. The Mason, Ohio native is the only Blazer to start every game (28), averaging 27.2 minutes per contest.

UAB Close In Losses
>> The Blazers have lost just one game by a double-figure margin this season, a 69-54 defeat to SEC foe Vanderbilt on Nov. 15. In UAB’s 11 losses the Blazers have dropped those contests by an average of 6.2 points. Five of the 11 losses have been by five points or less.
