All-America Candidate Deanna Jackson was named C-USA Player of the Week for the second time this season, after leading UAB to a 2-0 weekend mark.

UAB All-America candidate Deanna Jackson was named Conference USA's Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Lady Blazers to two league wins over Charlotte and Saint Louis this weekend.
Jackson recorded her 15th double-double of the season and the 46th of her career against Charlotte with 18 points and 15 rebounds. In the win over Saint Louis, Jackson posted 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Deanna leads the league and is second in the nation in scoring, averaging 25.5 points per game. She also leads the league and is fifth nationally in rebounding getting 11.7 boards a game.
She moved into sixth place on C-USA's all-time scoring with 1,665 points and ranks third in rebounds with 895. On UAB's career list Jackson is now fifth in scoring, fourth in rebounding and second in blocked shots with 107. She needs two blocks to become the school's all-time leader.
Jackson, the preseason Player of the Year in C-USA, earned Player of the Week honors the first week of the season.
