BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's tennis team is back in action this weekend as the Blazers make the short trek to Tuscaloosa to take part in the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational.
Play will begin Friday and run through Sunday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium and Alabama Rec Courts. There are seven different singles draws and two for doubles.
UAB is one of 20 schools competing in the tournament this weekend. The Blazers will be joined by the following teams: Alabama, Ball State, Boston College, Chattanooga, Davidson, Furman, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, NC State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Tulane, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
The Blazers have seven players entered in the singles draws and three doubles teams. Chris Helliar, David Zimmerman, Danny Manlow, Daniel Moser, Lucas Dirube, James Gardner and Nick Iannuzzi will compete for singles honors.
The doubles tandems for UAB are as follows: Helliar/Manlow, Moser/Zimmerman and Dirube/Gardner.
