BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's tennis team is seeded seventh and will meet No. 10 seed UTSA on Thursday in an opening round match at the 2014 Conference USA Championship in Tulsa, Okla.

The Blazers (12-8) and Roadrunners (9-16) will play one of two 10 a.m. matches Thursday when play begins at the Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.

Both UAB and UTSA will enter the conference tournament coming off a loss to No. 75-ranked South Alabama. The Blazers dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the Jaguars on Sunday while the Roadrunners fell to USA by a 4-2 score a day earlier. Both matches were played in Mobile, Ala.

Thursday's meeting will be the second this season between UAB and UTSA. The teams played back on Feb. 16 in Birmingham with the Blazers prevailing by a 4-3 score.

The winner of Thursday's opening round matchup will advance to Friday's quarterfinals against No. 2 seed Tulane.

Host Tulsa is the top-seeded and ranked No. 41 nationally. East Carolina is the tournament's No. 3 seed with Middle Tennessee at No. 4.
