Men's Tennis Plays Host To Belmont Sunday

Donovan McSeveney was a winner at No. 4 singles Tuesday vs. Southern Miss.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB men's tennis team will be back in action Sunday as the Blazers welcome the Belmont Bruins to the Lakeshore Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. CT match.

The Blazers (5-5) are coming off a 5-2 home win over Conference USA foe Southern Miss Tuesday. Belmont, which was scheduled to play host to Southern Illinois in a Saturday dual match, is 2-6. The Bruins have posted victories over Chattanooga and Cumberland (Tenn.).

Against the Golden Eagles Tuesday, UAB won the doubles point for the eighth time in 10 matches and then claimed wins in four of the six singles positions. The Blazers got wins in singles by Chris Helliar and Rafael Rondino at the top two spots, and also from Donovan McSeveney at No. 4 and Luiz Felipe Pinto at No. 6.
