Men's Tennis Team Cracks National Rankings

Lucas Dirube has a 4-2 record at No. 5 singles this season.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's tennis team has played its way into the 2012 Campbell's/ITA national team rankings, according to the latest list of the nation's top collegiate teams announced on Tuesday.

The Blazers, 7-3 on the season, are listed at No. 61 in the country in the latest rankings.

UAB's three losses have all been to top 50 teams: Tulsa is currently No. 22, Florida State is No. 32 and Vanderbilt is No. 49.

Coach Derek Tarr's Blazers will be back in action this Saturday, March 10 when they play a pair of home dual matches at George Ward Park. UAB takes on Jacksonville State at 9:00 a.m. before meeting Belmont at 2:00 p.m.
