NEW ORLEANS ----- The UAB doubles team of Danny Manlow and Daniel Moser won a pair of matches here Friday, one of those coming over the No. 5 seed, to advance to the quarterfinal round of the Wilson/ITA South Regional Men's Tennis Championship.

Manlow and Moser, both sophomores for the Blazers, defeated the fifth-seeded team from Louisiana-Lafayette, Piotr Banas and Yanick Mandl, 8-6, in their second round match. The UAB tandem then disposed of LSU's team of Sebastian Carlsson and Julien Gauthier, 8-6, in the Round of 16.

Manlow and Moser will now play Mississippi State's Artem Ilyushin and George Coupland in Saturday's quarterfinals.

Manlow did not fare as well in singles play Friday. After winning twice on Thursday, the transfer from Wofford College lost to Mississippi State's Louis Cant, 6-2, 6-1, in the Round of 32.

Moser won his consolation singles match on Friday, defeating UNO's Stepan Siska, 6-3, 6-3.
