BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB men's tennis team evened its dual match record on the season Sunday with a convincing 7-0 victory over visiting North Alabama at the Lakeshore Tennis Center.

The Blazers (1-1) swept all six singles matches and captured wins in two of three doubles matches to claim the victory.

UAB had originally been scheduled to play Jacksonville State on Sunday as well, but that match was postponed due to the threat of inclement weather and will be rescheduled.

Seniors Chris Helliar, Rafael Rondino and Lucas Dirube were all straight set winners at the top three singles positions for the Blazers. Newcomers Donovan McSeveney and Mitchell Martell, along with sophomore Luiz Felipe Pinto, took wins at the other singles spots for UAB.

Dirube and McSeveney teamed to win their No. 2 doubles match with Pinto and Rondino taking their match at No. 3, both by 6-1 scores.

UAB will be back in action Tuesday, Feb. 4 when the Blazers travel to Auburn, Ala. to take on the No. 28-ranked Auburn Tigers in a 2:00 p.m. CT match
