Ville, Wickham Named To C-USA All-Tournament Team

Chase Wickham scored a pair of goals at the Conference USA Championship.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—UAB men’s soccer juniors Raphael Ville and Chase Wickham were named to the 2012 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team, the league announced on Sunday following the championship match at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala. 

For the tournament, Ville, a goalkeeper from Courbevoie, France, recorded 11 saves, including eight in the double-overtime standoff against Tulsa. On the season, Ville recorded 73 saves and owned a goals-against average of 1.31.

Wickham, a junior midfielder, netted a pair of first-half goals lead the sixth-seeded UAB past the No. 3 UCF Knights, 3-1 in the opening round of the Conference USA Championship. On the season, the Vancouver, British Columbia native recorded five goals, two assists, and 12 shots.

The Blazers will learn their postseason fate on Monday, when the NCAA announces the 2012 College Cup bracket. The Men's Soccer Selection Show will air at 5:30 p.m. CT on
