In the classroom, Matte has been equally impressive. He maintains a 3.43 cumulative grade point average as an anthropology major. He was selected to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2010 and 2011, which is awarded to student-athletes who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
