UAB Men's Soccer Signs Clint Baumstark to Letter of Intent

Goalkeeper Clint Baumstark of Thornton, Col., signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer at UAB, coach Mike Getman, announced.

Baumstark, 6-foot-1, was a four-year starter for Horizon High School, leading the team to the Colorado State championship and National Championship in 2000. He has been a member of the West Region Olympic Development Team since 1998. Baumstark was selected to the U.S. Youth National Team Pool in 2000.

An addidas All-American in '98 and '99, Baumstark played for the prestigious Colorado Rush club team. The Rush was West Region Champions in 1999.

"Clint is a blue-chip athlete with all the tools to be successful at the Division I level. He is also an honor student and a top class person," Getman said. "We are very excited to have joining our team."

UAB was 14-5-2 this past season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
