Former UAB Men's Golfer Chris Devlin Passes First Round Of PGA Qualifying School

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Former UAB men's golfer, Chris Devlin (1996-2000) passed the first stage of PGA qualifying on October 17-20 at the Pensacola Country Club. Devlin finished tied for 12th shooting rounds of74-70-73-69 for a two-under par total of 286. Devlin will now move to the second stage of qualifying which will be played in mid-November.

During his four year career at UAB, Devlin acquired an impressive list of accomplishments. He won five tournaments including the Conference USA Championships in 1997, was a three-time Conference USA Player of the Year, earned Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors in 1997. He also earned First Team All-Conference honors three times and Second Team All-Conference one time. He was a three time Player of the Week and lead UAB to the NCAA East Regionals two years in a row (1997-1998, 1998-1999).

Devlin is a native of Ballymena, Northern Ireland.
