Junior Paul Dunne was named to the 2013-14 CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men's At-Large Team.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior Paul Dunne of the UAB men’s golf team was selected to the 2013-14 CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men’s At-Large Team, CoSIDA announced on Thursday. Dunne was one of 11 student-athletes to be named to the Academic All-District 4 Men’s At-Large Team.
Dunne has been the Blazers’ best player statistically in 2013-14. A first-team All-Conference USA member and the 2014 Conference USA Golfer of the Year, Dunne owns a team-best 71.6 stroke average and has recorded 18 rounds at or under for the year. The Greystones, Ireland native has won two individual titles and finished in the top 10 in five events this season, with four of those coming in the past five tournaments. For his efforts on the course, Dunne was named to the 2014 Palmer Cup as a member of the European squad.
In the classroom, Dunne is a standout, as well. The business finance major owns a 3.83 cumulative GPA. He is a three-time Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree and has received the Conference USA Academic Medal twice in his career. Earlier this year, Dunne was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
Dunne and the UAB men’s golf team began play at the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional on Thursday. The Blazers are looking to qualify for their fifth NCAA Championships appearance.
