The 28th-ranked UAB men's golf team has been selected to participate in the NCAA East Regional hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University. The tournament will be conducted May 17-19 at the Green Course of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
The East Regional field includes 11 of the nation's top-30 teams. The regional field is: Top-ranked Georgia, No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 3 Clemson, No. 8 North Carolina State, No. 9 Florida, No. 18 East Tennessee State, No. 20 Duke, No. 23 Virginia Tech, No. 26 Auburn, No. 28 UAB, No. 30 Charleston Southern, Rhode Island, Hartford, Yale, Penn State, Richmond, St. John's, Seton Hall, Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Virginia Commonwealth, Xavier, Princeton, Iona and Maryland-Baltimore County. The top-10 teams from each of the three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships hosted by Duke University, May 30-June 3.
This will be UAB's third attempt in four years at the NCAA East Regionals. The Blazers recently played in the Conference Championships, finishing second to Houston. The Blazers will play May 10-11 in the Atlanta Intercollegiate at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga. as their final tune-up before the regional.
