BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 18 UAB men’s golf team heads to its first tournament of postseason play at the 2014 Conference USA Championships in Edmond, Okla. The three-round event at the Oak Tree Country Club begins on Sunday, April 27.

UAB is looking to capture its first Conference USA title since 2008. It would mark it second C-USA title in program history, as well.

Head coach Alan Murray will use his customary lineup of seniors Sam Love, Wilson McDonald, Thomas Sutton, junior Paul Dunne, and sophomore Martin Rohwer. Love and Sutton are playing in their fourth straight Conference USA Championship, while Rohwer is playing in his first.

Last season, the Blazers finished in fourth place at the conference tournament. Sutton was the team’s lowest scorer, recording a 216 (E) to finish in a tie for eighth place.

UAB will begin its first round at the par-70, 6,861-yard course at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com.
