GLENCOE, Ala. – Sophomore Will Cannon of the No. 18 UAB men’s golf team placed 15th at the JSU Grub Mart Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon. Cannon was one of three Blazers to participate in the event as an individual.
Cannon fired a final-round 76 (+3) to finish the event in 149 strokes (+5). It marked the Hoover, Ala. native’s best finish in his collegiate career.
Not far behind Cannon was redshirt sophomore Ryan Davies. Davies placed 20th after shooting a 150 (+6) for the tournament at the Silver Lakes Golf Course. The redshirt sophomore also shot a four-over round on Tuesday.
Freshman Henry James was the final Blazer to compete, scoring a 166 (+22) at the par-72, 6,886-yard course. James made a four-stroke improvement from the first round, shooting an 81 (+9) for the final 18 holes.
The UAB men’s golf team is back on the links on Saturday, April 12 at the Robert Keppler Invitational. The squad’s final event of the regular season will last until Sunday, April 13 in Columbus, Ohio.
